Tamoxifen citrate (tamoxifencitrate, referred to as TCT), is an estrogen (estrogen) competitive antagonist, a non-steroidal anti-estrogen drug, in vivo with estrogen (estradiol) It competes with breast cancer cells to combine with estrogen receptors, thereby inhibiting the effect of estrogen on cancer cells, hindering the growth and development of tumor cells, and exerting anti-cancer effects. It is commonly used in the treatment of various types of breast cancer, especially for postmenopausal women with estrogen receptor and progesterone receptor positive and low prostate-specific antigen levels.

TCT has cis-trans isomers, the cis-isomers exhibit weak estrogenic effects, and the trans-isomers have anti-estrogenic effects. Tamoxifen binds to estrogen receptor (ER) in the cytoplasm when it is applied at an early stage or exists at a low concentration, so it has a weak estrogenic effect.
