Guar gum:

Guar gum is obtained by removing the skin and germ from the endosperm portion of the seeds of the four-sided melon. After drying and grinding, water was added, hydrolyzed under pressure, and precipitated with 20% ethanol. After centrifugation, the endosperm was dried and crushed. Guar gum is a nonionic galactomannan extracted from the endosperm of guar bean. Guar gum and its derivatives have good water solubility and high viscosity at low mass fraction.
Guar gum is soluble in cold and hot water but insoluble in oils, oils, hydrocarbons, ketones and esters. The water solution is tasteless, odorless, non-toxic and neutral. Because the solution contains a small amount of fiber and cellulose, it is pale gray and translucent. It also exhibits high viscosity in water. The viscosity varies depending on particle size, pH and temperature. It is compatible with other plant gels, starch and water-soluble proteins. It is made of Guar seed by grinding, screening, drying and removing skin and processing of germ and endosperm. Used as thickening agent, flocculant, flotation agent, film forming agent and sizing agent
