Cyclophosphamide (CTX) is a nitrogen mustard derivative that enters the human body and is hydrolyzed by excessive phosphoramidase or phosphatase existing in the liver or tumor to become activated phosphoramide nitrogen mustard. It is the first so-called "latent" broad-spectrum anti-tumor drug with a wide spectrum of anti-tumor drugs, which is effective for both leukemia and solid tumors.

Cyclophosphamide has no activity in vitro. It plays a role mainly through the hydrolysis of P450 enzyme in the liver to aldehyde phosphoramide, which is then transported to the tissues to form phosphoramide nitrogen mustard. Cyclophosphamide can be converted from dehydrogenase to carboxy phosphamide and inactivated, or discharged in the form of acrolein, leading to urinary tract toxicity. It belongs to periodic non-specific drugs, and its mechanism of action is the same as nitrogen mustard.
