Zinc sulfate Heptahydrate is a kind of inorganic compound whose molecular formula is ZnSO4·7H2O, which is commonly known as alum or Zinc alum. Colorless oblique crystal system prismatic crystal, white crystalline powder, soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol. It loses water when heated to 200°C and dissolves when heated to 770°C.
Zinc sulfate heptahydrate is harmful if swallowed, seriously injurious to eyes, highly toxic to aquatic life and may have long-term adverse effects on the aquatic environment. Zinc sulfate hephydrate can be used as mordant, wood preservative, papermaking industry bleach, but also used in medicine, man-made fiber, electrolysis, electroplating, pesticides and production of zinc salt
