It is widely used in the fields of food, coatings, resins, and plasticizers. In the food industry, fumaric acid is used as a sour agent, and can be used in refreshing drinks, Western-style wine, cold drinks, concentrated fruit juices, canned fruits, pickles, and ice cream.
