Dapagliflozin (BMS-512148) is a sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

Dagliprazin works by inhibiting sodium-glucose transporter 2 (SGLT2), a protein in the kidneys that allows glucose to be reabsorbed into the bloodstream. This allows excess glucose to be eliminated from the body through the urine, thereby improving blood sugar control without increasing insulin secretion. The use of this drug requires that patients have normal kidney function, and patients with moderate to severe renal insufficiency should condone the drug. When used alone or in combination with metformin, pioglitazone, glimepiide, insulin and other drugs, this product can significantly reduce HbA1c and fasting blood glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes, the incidence of adverse reactions is similar to placebo, the risk of hypoglycemia is low, and weight loss can be achieved.
