Chemical properties:
Dark red monoclinic prismatic crystals. The relative density of anhydrous substance is 1.705 (18.7/4℃) at 140℃. Soluble in water, acid, alcohol. Slightly acetic acid odor, easy deliquescent.

Use:
Xylene oxidation catalyst, used for aluminum profile surface treatment, production of coating desiccant, printing and dyeing mordant, FRP curing accelerator and invisible ink.

Production method:
From cobalt metal or cobalt oxide as raw materials, reaction with nitric acid to prepare cobalt nitrate solution, and then react with ammonium bicarbonate (or soda ash) solution to produce cobalt carbonate precipitation; The precipitation was washed, separated, and acidified with acetic acid to obtain cobalt acetate. After filtration, the reaction solution was adjusted to pH=2, concentrated to the relative density of 1.17-1.20, and then 1kg acetic acid was added to the concentrated solution every 200L. The concentrated solution was crystallized for 7-10d under 20℃, centrifuged, and dried at 30-40℃ to obtain the finished product. The content of industrial grade cobalt acetate is not less than 45%. Raw material consumption quota: metallic cobalt (>99%) 265kg/t, acetic acid 1000kg/t, nitric acid 1100kg/t.
