Superiority:

Product Name: PEG 400

Polyethylene glycol 400
Poly(ethylene glycol))
CAS: 25322-68-3
Chemical formula: N/A

Appearance
This product is white granular. Soluble in water, soluble in some organic solvents. The solution has high viscosity at low concentration, and can be processed by rolling, extrusion, casting, etc. It is a thermoplastic resin with good compatibility with other resins. It is resistant to bacterial attack and has weak hygroscopicity in the atmosphere.

Preparation
Ethylene oxide is prepared by autopolymerization of aluminum isopropyl alcohol.

Use
Polyoxyethylene resin is a high molecular weight homopolymer prepared by polyphase catalytic ring-opening polymerization of ethylene oxide. It can usually be distinguished into relative molecular mass of more than 2× 104 and tens of thousands of more, the former is called polyethylene glycol, the latter is called polyoxide ethylene. Polyoxide ethylene has flocculation, thickening, slow release, lubrication, dispersion, retention, water retention and other properties, suitable for medicine, fertilizer, paper, ceramics, detergents, cosmetics, heat treatment, water treatment, fire protection, oil mining and other industries, the product is non-toxic and non-irritating, will not remain in the product production process, deposition or breeding volatiles. As a papermaking additive, it can improve the retention rate of fillers and fine fibers, and is especially suitable for long fibers as a dispersant, which can shorten the beating time.

Security
It has little irritation to the skin and eyes, is difficult to be absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract when taken orally, and has very low toxicity. An aqueous solution of 5% (by mass) polyoxyethylene injected into the rabbit's eyes caused only minor burning. Polyoxyethylene had little effect on the death rate of fish, crabs, anemones, shrimp or algae. Its resin and aqueous solution are low toxic and very safe to use and handle. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved polyoxyethylene aqueous solution resins for use in specialized food packaging and as direct additives to beer.
