It is mainly used as a homopolymer and is widely used in coatings, perm resins with good moisture resistance, spray setting agents, photosensitive resins and their additives, etc.

It is an important vinyl monomer. The homopolymer generated by polymerization is insoluble in water, but has "water breathing properties". The water absorption rate can reach 20-25% of the resin's own weight. When the ambient humidity is lower than 60%, the water absorbed by the polymer is released again. The water acts as a plasticizer for the polymer. This unique property can be used to develop a variety of uses. (1) Perm resin with good moisture resistance Japan uses it for perm resins with good moisture resistance. The hairstyle can be kept for a long time and will not deform in rain or washing. (2) Photosensitive resin This product is used as part of the raw material of photosensitive resin. It can have the following characteristics: fast photosensitization speed; the non-image part can be easily removed after exposure to obtain a clear image; and a layout with good strength, solvent resistance and water resistance can be obtained.
