Product Description: Finerenone is a novel mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist that has the effect of slowing the progression of chronic kidney disease. Some people may be familiar with two other mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists: spironolactone, a diuretic used for blood pressure control, and eplerenone. Finerenone is their counterpart, being the third-generation mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist introduced after the two.
Application:
Finerenone is the first non-steroidal, selective mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist, used in the treatment of diabetic kidney disease, chronic kidney disease, and end-stage renal disease. It can reduce proteinuria in patients and improve glomerular filtration rate.
