The concentration of insulin in serum-free culture medium is generally between 5-20mg/L. For different cell lines, it is necessary to choose the most suitable concentration.
Insulin is supplied in crystalline powder form and stored frozen below -18 ℃. Dissolve before use, usually using hydrochloric acid solution (10mM) to prepare a stock solution containing 1-2mg of insulin per 1ml, then sterilize and filter. After packaging, the filtrate can be stored at -20 ℃ for 6 months. Repeated freezing and thawing should be avoided.
