Appearance (the following information is for reference only): White or light yellow powder,. Odorless, slightly sweet. An enzyme that can hydrolyze lactose into glucose and galactose. Generally refers to enzymes that can hydrolyze β - galactose into galactose and glycosides. It is a chaotic liquid in water (mostly dissolved) and insoluble in ethanol and acetone. The pH range is 5.5-9.5 (25 ℃, 20hr), with an optimal pH of 7.0 and an optimal operating temperature of 50 ℃. When measuring activity, dissolve the powder in 100mM pH 7.3 potassium phosphate buffer solution to form a transparent liquid. Extracted from Escherichia coli.
Usage: This product is for scientific research only and cannot be used for other purposes. (The following uses are for reference only) β - galactosidase can hydrolyze galactose residues connected to monosaccharides, oligosaccharides, or glycopeptides through β -1 → 4 glycosidic bonds. It is mainly used in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, coupled to antibodies as a marker. In addition, β - galactosidase can also be used for carbohydrate structure analysis, lactose detection, and sodium ion detection
