Appearance: Off white to white powder. There are two types of acetylcholinesterase: AChE and butyrylcholinesterase (BuChE). The gene structure, amino acid sequence, and spatial three-dimensional structure of both show high homology. The main difference between the two is that AChE hydrolyzes acetylcholine (ACh) and acetylthiocholine (ATCh) faster than propionylcholine (PrCh), and has no significant hydrolysis effect on butyrylcholine (BuCh) and butyrylthiocholine (BuTCh). The principle of color reaction between butyrylcholinesterase and acetylcholinesterase is completely the same. Butyl cholinesterase has the advantage of higher sensitivity

It is a key enzyme in biological nerve conduction and a target for organophosphate and carbamate insecticides. This enzyme is a powerful detoxifier against nerve gas bombs, which can neutralize organic phosphate esters containing nerve agents, insecticides, and chemical fluxes, thus avoiding the invasion of nerve agents
