It is relatively sensitive to oxidants and ultraviolet rays. Melting point: 280℃ (decomposition)
Purpose: Biochemical research. An antifungal polyene antibiotic that inhibits fungal growth by specifically binding to ergosterol. Unlike nystatin and Filipinomycin, natamycin does not change the permeability of cell membranes
