introduction	octafluorotoluene, English name: Octaflurotoluene; Alias: perfluorotoluene. Perfluorinated compounds are a class of elemental organic compounds in which the hydrogen connected to carbon atoms in the molecules of organic compounds is replaced by fluorine. The compound in which all the hydrocarbon bonds in the molecule are converted into fluorocarbon bonds is called perfluoroorganic compounds, and the partially substituted compounds are called monofluoro or polyfluoro organic compounds.
application	as fluorine is the most electronegative element, polyfluorinated organic compounds have broad application prospects in chemical industry, medicine and liquid crystal materials due to their chemical stability, thermal stability, high surface activity and hydrophobic and oleophobic properties.
preparation	(1) preparation of fluorination catalyst: by weight, 100 parts of thiourea resin are swelled in 700 parts of sodium hydroxide solution and soaked for 2 hours, the weight percentage concentration of sodium hydroxide solution is 7%, washed with deionized water to PH = 7, 300 parts of cuprous chloride solution (weight percentage concentration is 8%) are added, Add 0.05 parts of ethylene glycol bis (β-hydroxyethyl ether); Add 0.04 parts of 1-ethylmethyl ether -3-methylimidazole tetrafluoroborate, 3 parts of hydrogen peroxide, stir and react at 40 ℃ for 8 hours, finish the reaction, filter and dry to obtain fluorination catalyst;(2) Preparation of octafluorotoluene: 100 parts of octachlorotoluene are added by weight, 200 parts of dried KF,500 parts of diphenyl ether and 8 parts of fluorination catalyst are put into the reaction kettle. The system gradually heats up to react. The reaction temperature is 420 ℃, the reaction pressure is 3MP, and the reaction time is 3h. After the reaction is over, the gas phase crude in the kettle is separated from gas and solid and then enters the crude condenser for condensation. The condensate is collected in the crude tank. The residue at the bottom of the kettle is treated for production of active potassium fluoride;(3) Refining of octafluorotoluene: The crude octafluorotoluene in the crude product tank enters the octafluorotoluene rectification tower kettle, is rectified by octafluorotoluene rectification tower, and the product octafluorotoluene is separated from the top of the tower and flows through an adsorption tower equipped with 2-chloromethylchloro resin at a flow rate of 3BV/h and a temperature of 40 ℃ to obtain purified octafluorotoluene product.
