Product Description:
Thiourea dioxide, also known as rongalite, is a white, crystalline powder with a faint sulfur - like odor. It has a relatively stable chemical structure under normal conditions but decomposes when heated or in the presence of strong acids or alkalis. It is moderately soluble in water, and its aqueous solutions show reducing properties. In the textile industry, it is a vital reducing agent. It is used for bleaching various natural and synthetic fibers, such as cotton, wool, and polyester, achieving a bright and uniform color. It also helps in dye - stripping processes, removing unwanted dyes from fabrics. In the pulp and paper industry, it serves as a bleaching agent for pulp, enhancing the brightness of paper products. In the leather industry, it can be used for bleaching and de - hairing processes, improving the quality of leather. In the chemical industry, it is involved in the synthesis of certain organic compounds, acting as a key intermediate. However, thiourea dioxide should be handled with great care. It may release toxic gases when decomposed, and direct contact with skin and eyes can cause irritation. It should be stored in a cool, dry place away from incompatible substances to prevent decomposition and maintain its effectiveness.
Application:
As a reducing agent, urea sulfur dioxide is widely used in dyeing industry for wool bleaching, dyeing of VAT dyes and sulphur dyes, reduction washing agent for disperse dyes, discharge and decoloring agent. In organic synthesis, it is used to reduce ketone, quinone, nitro, azo, azo oxide, azo oxide, hypodiazo compounds and organic sulfides. Urea sulfur dioxide is also used as a variety of decolorizing agent, is a sensitizer for photo-gaging latex, and a chemical agent for separating rare metals rhodium and iridium, which can improve the stability of polyethylene. Adding urea sulfur dioxide in the evaporation process of polyacrylonitrile and polymerization can improve the color of polyacrylonitrile, which is an important supporting product for synthetic fiber production. This product is also widely used in the production of fine chemical products such as medicine and spices.
