Physical and Chemical Properties	Hydroxyalkyl starch has high stability and non-ionic properties, is easy to gelatinize, has high transparency of the paste, good fluidity, weak coagulation, and high stability. It can still maintain its original colloidal structure when stored at low temperature or frozen and melted multiple times. The film is flexible and smooth, with good bending resistance, and due to the absence of micropores, it improves oil resistance.
Use	An ideal surface sizing agent and coating adhesive can effectively improve the physical properties of paper, such as wear resistance, texture, and smoothness. It can solve problems such as paper shedding and powder loss, inhibit ink penetration during printing, make the printing paper ink bright, uniform, and the adhesive film smooth, and reduce ink consumption. Hydroxyalkyl starch has hydrophilicity, which weakens the internal hydrogen bonding strength of starch particle structure. As the degree of substitution increases, the gelatinization temperature decreases and can eventually expand in cold water. Products with higher degrees of substitution can be soluble in methanol or ethanol.
Caution	Non toxic, with good biodegradability. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. If accidentally splashed into the eyes, lift the eyelids and rinse with running water or physiological saline.
