Permanent violet RL is an organic dye, with the chemical name carbamate 2-(6-amino-4-methyl-5-oxo-trithio-2, 3-cyclohexylpyrrole)[4,5-b] -turmeric pyrrole (3-acetic aniline). Permanent purple RL is a dark purple crystalline solid that is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents such as ethyl acetate and dimethyl sulfoxide.

Permanent Purple RL has excellent light resistance, water resistance and washing resistance under acidic conditions, and is widely used in the preparation of dyes and pigments in the textile industry. It has good dyeing fastness on fabrics, which can make fabrics have a bright purple color. Permanent Purple RL can also be used in the manufacture of dyed liquid crystal displays and pigment inks.
