Mode of Action |
Bti is Gram-positive bacteria bacillus, which will generate oval spore. Facultative anaerobe. The main content will be toxin protein of parasporal crystal. This kind of insecticidal crystal protein (ICP) will be generated at the last stage of spore growth. When the ICP go into the alimentary canal of mosquito larva, the protein will be broke into δ-endotoxin by the alkalic duodenal juice. Then the midgut will stop working and become paralyzed, its epithelial cell dissociates. The larva will stop eating. Meanwhile, the spore will sprout in the midgut and go into the haemocoel for mass propagation. The insect will die for septicemia. |

Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis (Bti) is a kind of pathogenic microorganism for mosquito control, which is widely used and has the best efficiency for the control of the larva of Anopheles, Culex, Mansoia, Psorophora, Aedes, Simulium.
