Chemacure PI-2959 is a highly efficient Free Radical Type I solid photoinitiator which is used to initiate the UV polymerization of chemically unsaturated prepolymers (e.g., acrylates) and unsaturated polyesters. It is especially recommended to use in low odor and water-borne systems.

Applications

Chemacure PI-2959 may be used in UV curable formulations on substrates paper, wood, metal and plastic materials. Its functional hydroxy group enhances its excellent compatibility in water-borne coating formulations. Chemacure PI-2959 demonstrates low volatility and low odor as a pure substance as well as in cured film, if compared with other commercially available photoinitiators.

The application of Chemacure PI-2959 reacting with functional resin backbone to form polymeric photoinitiators is may be of specific interests.

Storage Conditions

Chemacure PI-2959 is sensitive to visible light and any exposure to sunlight should be avoided. Kept at low/ambient temperature and dry conditions. Avoid contacting with strong oxidants.

The product is stable for 2 years if stored in original, sealed containers under above-mentioned conditions.
