Tri-t-butylsilane reacts with di(t-butyl)mercury with loss of isobutane and formation of bis(tri-t-butylsilyl)mercury. Infrared, Raman, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR spectra are reported and compared with the spectra of bis(tri-t-butylsilyl)-cadmium.
