Five new supramolecular assemblies based on organic macrocyclic cavitand cucurbit[6] uril (CB[6]) and mono-/polynuclear bismuth(III)-, and mercury(II)-ions were synthesized and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. They are (H3O)4[Bi2Cl10]·(C36H36N24O12)·14H2O (1), (H3O)4[BiCl6]Cl·(C36H36N24O12)·8H2O (2), (H3O)6(C6H8N)[BiBr6]Br·2(C36H36N24O12)·2H2O (3), (H3O)3[Hg2Cl7]·(C36H36N24O12)·6H2O (4) and (H3O)2[Hg2Cl6]·(C36H36N24O12)·4H2O (5). The crystal structures of complexes 1-4 showed that pack of mono-/polynuclear ions and macrocycles lead to the formation variable diameter channels from 4 to 8 Å, which are occupied by disordered hydronium cations and water molecules. Solvent accessible void volume are above 32-39% according to PLATON evaluation. All complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, IR and Raman spectroscopy.
