  • Formation and elimination of red inclusions in Cr3+-doped beryllium hexa-aluminate (BHA) crystals
  • Add time:07/25/2019         Source:sciencedirect.com

It was verified, by several methods, that the red inclusions in Cr3+-doped beryllium hexa-aluminate (BHA) crystals are inclusions of Al2O3:Cr3+. The reasons for their presence and the mechanism of their formation and elimination by use of an excess of BeO were interpreted in accordance with the phase relations in the BeO-Al2O3 system. Perfect, red-inclusion-free crystals were grown based on improved technical understanding.
