ZusammenfassungA radio-gas chromatographic procedure has been devised to enable comparison of the pharmacokinetics of tritium labelled, carcinogenic trans-dimethylammostilbene and inactive cis-4-dimethylaminostilbene and 4-dimethylaminobibenzyl. This method makes it possible to analyse the pattern of metabolites in complex mixtures obtained by tissue extraction. With a specific radioactivity of 1 mC/mg and an applied dose of 1 mg (per rat), 10−3 μg of a metabolite or 10−3% of the administered dose can be determined. Since the use of reference substances is obligatory, 15 possible metabolites of the starting compounds were synthesized. For control experiments 5 ol them were also labelled with tritium. 4-Dimethyl-amino-4′-hydroxystilbene and -bibenzyl and 4-dimethylamino-3-hydroxy-stilbene and -bibenzyl are among the unknown compounds.The UV, NMR, mass and IR spectra of the synthesized compounds are discussed, and the data for radiogas chromatography and thin-layer chromatography of the reference substances are given.
