A series of glass specimen [Na2WO4.2H2O]1−x[Fe2O3]x with x = 0, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20 and 0.25 were prepared. The infrared absorption spectra of these Sodium tungstate dihydrate (cas 10213-10-2) glass specimens containing iron oxide have been studied as a function of iron oxide. It was found that the addition of Fe2O3 introduced a new absorption band at 1425 cm [1] not present in the infrared spectrum of a pure (Na2WO42H2O) glass sample. Differential scanning calorimetry measurements showed endothermal reactions varing from 117 °C to 130 °C depending on the Fe2O3 concentration.
