4-BroMobenzyl isothiocyanate (cas 10219-19-9) when added to aerated dense suspensions of resting Candida albicans cells brings about a rapid increase in absorbance near 340 nm due to the reduction of intracellular NAD(P). No significant changes in the redox state of cytochromes were observed under these conditions. The kinetics of NAD(P) reduction in both the presence and absence of glucose is presented.
