Several homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts have been used for the metathesis of functionalized olefins. Self-and co-metathesis of allyl cyanide, ethyl 4-pentenoate and allyltrimethylsilane with linear and cyclic olefins occurs with high yields and selectivity. These reactions allow the production of silyl derivatives of unsaturated nitriles and esters by single-step reactions.
