  • Removal of Cr(VI) through calixarene based polymer inclusion membrane from chrome plating bath water
  • Add time:07/28/2019         Source:sciencedirect.com

In this study, a calixarene based polymer inclusion membrane was employed for the removal of Cr(VI) from chrome plating bath water. The prepared polymer inclusion membrane was characterized by using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy (AFM) and contact angle measurements. The effects of carrier concentration, plasticizer type and temperature on the transport, the membrane’s stability and thickness were examined. The transport efficiency of Cr(VI) using the polymer inclusion membrane was approximately 97.69%. The kinetic results demonstrated that Cr(VI) can be transported from the chrome plating bath water to the acceptor phase with high selective and efficiency. The experimental results showed the prepared polymer inclusion membrane (PIM) can be used effectively for the removal of Cr(VI) from the industrial wastewater.
