Mössbauer spectroscopy was used to study iron in the β-, δ-, δ′- and ε-iron tellurides in the temperature range from 300 to 1000 K. Mössbauer diffusional line broadening was observed in all phases except the ε-phase. The activation energies for iron diffusional jump frequencies in the β-, δ- and δ′-phases increased in this order with increasing tellurium concentrations. This fact may be explained in terms of the nearest jump distance between the iron atom and the neighboring iron sites.
