  • A study on infrared transmission of lanthanum sulfide and oxysulfide in the 2.5–14 μm region
  • Add time:08/01/2019         Source:sciencedirect.com

The development of sulfide materials as infrared-transmitting optical ceramics is limited by the phonon absorption edge, vibrational mode frequencies, crystal chemistry and thermomechanical properties. The lanthanum oxysulfides and sulfides consist of a series of refractory materials La2O2S, β-La2S3 (La10S15−xOx), γ-La2S3, CaLa2S4, and PbCaLa2S4. Translucent pellets were formed by hot pressing the sulfide powders and their IR transmission range compared. The cut-off of La2O2S compound is 8 μm, γ-La2S3 is 14 μm.
