The electrochemical oscillations of bromates on the stationary mercury electrode can arise, if in a solution of sulfuric acid or nitric acid besides sodium bromate also bromine is present. The origin of the anodic current oscillations is explained on the basis of described results by means of a reaction scheme that is based on the alternation of two positive feedbacks with a negative one.
