The 31P chemical shielding tensors, and their direction cosines, of the three chemically different phosphorus nuclei in chlorotris(triphenylphosphine) rhodium(I) were determined in single-crystal studies using high-resolution cross-polarization NMR with proton decoupling. The tensors are not axially symmetric and the directions of the most shielded principal values for each of the three phosphorus nuclei are almost parallel to the corresponding PRh bonds.
