A simple hydrothermal process is proposed for preparing Stannic oxide (cas 18282-10-5) nano-hexagons. Structural, morphological and phase information were determined by high resolution X-Ray diffraction (HR-XRD) and high resolution transmission electron microscope (HR-TEM) techniques. Optical properties and band gap (3.75 eV) were obtained from room temperature photo-luminescence (RTPL) spectroscopy. Analysis of XRD data using W-H plot and S-S plot were performed. The crystallite size evaluated using XRD data matches well with size obtained from TEM measurements and S-S plot.
