From the general scheme of the transfer hydrogenation of α,β-unsaturated ketones by alcohols in the presence of catalytic amounts of RhH-(PPh3)4, kinetic equations have been established which account for the various reaction intermediates. The conditions for which these equations can accomodate satisfactorily all the experimental results are given, and numerical values have been calculated for the main rate and equilibrium constants.
