  • Investigation of N-docosyl pyridinium, TCNQ Langmuir-Blodgett films as gas sensors☆
  • Add time:08/13/2019         Source:sciencedirect.com

Transferred Langmuir-Blodgett layers of N-docosyl pyridinium, TCNQ have been exposed to different gaseous streams. Their reactions have been observed through a direct measurement of their electrical properties and through u.v.-visible spectroscopy.Bromine, iodine, nitrous oxide and ammonia affect the degree of charge transfer of the complex and the film resistance. A good conductor (ϱ = 102 Ω cm) is obtained with nitrous oxide or iodine. The action is partly reversed with ammonia. The difference in response to these gases opens the way to new possibilities in the design of selective gas sensors.
