  • In vitro labelling of heparin with CHROMIUM-51 (cas 14392-02-0)
  • Add time:08/22/2019         Source:sciencedirect.com

A simple and quick method has been developed for labelling heparin with 51Cr. The radio-chemical purification of the heparin 51Cr complex was made by use of EDTA as the complexing agent. Sephadex G-50 chromatography was used for the separation of EDTA 51Cr and heparin 51Cr. The labelling procedure proved to be mild enough so that the 51Cr labelled heparin retained its metachromatic staining capacity and its anti-coagulant potency. The 51Cr heparin was stable at room temperature for 4 weeks and following heat treatment (for 30 min at 100°C). With regard to its properties, 51Cr labelled heparin will prove to be effective in the studies of the function of heparin in vitro and in vivo and its metabolic pathways.
