  • Acoustic, thermodynamic and transport properties of binary liquid mixtures of isopentyl acetate with aryl halides at 303.15 and 313.15 K

Densities, viscosities and speeds of sound of the binary systems of isopentyl acetate with chlorobenzene, bromobenzene and fluorobenzene have been measured as a function of composition at 303.15 and 313.15 K. Other mixing properties of interest such as excess volumes VE, viscosity deviations ∆η, excess free energy of activation for viscous flow ∆G⁎E, deviation in speeds of sound ∆u, isentropic compressibility KS, deviation in isentropic compressibility ∆KS, intermolecular free length Lf, excess intermolecular free length LfE, specific acoustic impedance Z, and excess specific acoustic impedance ZE have been obtained for each of the system. The calculated excess properties were correlated with the Redlich–Kister Polynomial equation. Further the predictive ability of Grunberg–Nissan, Lobe, Krishnan and Laddha, McAllister (four-body) interaction viscosity models was tested. The speeds of sound data were also correlated using Vandeal–Vangeel and Jouyban–Acree models.
