  • Kerr effect in the critical solutions of Decyl alcohol (cas 112-30-1)
  • Add time:08/25/2019         Source:sciencedirect.com

The Kerr constant was measured in five critical systems of decyl alcohol with dipolar liquids covering a wide range of electric permittivity. In agreement with the droplet model, precritical anomalies were observed only in systems with mismatched permittivities. The amplitude of the anomalies was several times smaller than in previously investigated systems of alcohols; it depends on the macroscopic parameters of the components and presumably also on the intermolecular interactions within the system.
