  • Novel conductive polyester using PEDOT:PSS, carbon black nanoparticles stabilized with vinyl acrylate copolymer
  • Add time:07/19/2019         Source:sciencedirect.com

Nowadays, conductive and semi-conductive fabrics has been attracted by different industries such as medical textile, electronic, sensors, electrodes and flexible resistance due to flexibility, lightness and wide range of applications. Here, poly (3, 4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) as conductive polymer, carbon black as assistant for increasing conductivity, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) as anionic surfactant were used in dipping method. Further, a commercial vinyl acrylate copolymer commercially named as DM5was used through two various approaches. First is exclusively dipping and second is dipping along with painting on the polyester fabric surface. The electrical conductivity test, FE-SEM images, Raman spectrum were carried out. FE-SEM images indicated Nano particles on polyester fabric surface. The electrical resistance of the optimum sample through dipping in solution of PEDOT:PSS, carbon black nanoparticle, SDS and then dipping in pure PEDOT:PSS was 500 Ω. The electrical resistance of the optimum sample dipping in a mixture of three materials and then painting with DM5 copolymer was 300 Ω.
