In this paper chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method is presented for the preparation of chelate polymer film as constituent for organic electroluminescent (EL) devices. The chelate polymer film, poly(bis(8-hydroxy-5-quinolyl)methane aluminum), was thermally converted into by simultaneously co-evaporated aluminum acetylacetonate and bis(8-hydroxy-5-quinolyl)-methane in the gas phase in the CVD process. Two kinds of EL devices using the chelate polymer as the emitting material were fabricated, and their EL properties were characterized and discussed.
