  • Tooth-colored bioactive titanium alloy prepared with anodic oxidation method for dental implant application
  • Add time:08/26/2019         Source:sciencedirect.com

A composite coating of rutile and sodium titanate with similar color of human natural tooth was successfully prepared on TC4 titanium alloy substrate with anodic oxidation method for dental implant application. The color of the coating could be regulated by the anodic oxidation treatment. The coating on TC4 was super hydrophilic, and its thickness was about 30 μm, and the bonding strength between the coating and the substrate could be high as 30 MPa. The coating showed bioactivity in simulated body fluid by inducing bone-like apatite formation on its surface, which might be caused by the slow sodium ions releasing from the sodium titanate hydrolyzing in the simulated body fluid.
