  • Quantitative measurement of protein in disc electrophoresis by direct ultraviolet absorbance☆
  • Add time:08/29/2019         Source:sciencedirect.com

Proteins separated by electrophoresis in polyacrylamide gels in 5 mm precision-bore round quartz tubes may be directly seanned at 280 nm in a special carriage in a Gilford model 2000 spectrophotometer. If the ϵ value of the protein is known, a direct quantitative measure of the amount of protein in any one peak can be obtained. With our equipment, 1 μg of protein was detectable and about 200 μg was the maximum amount that could be quantitated in any single peak.
