The compounds Tl(hfac), Pb(hfac)2 and Bi(hfac)3 with hfac=hexafluoroacetylacetonate show a green phosphorescence (λmax≈500 nm) under ambient conditions. This emission which is facilitated by the heavy atom effect of the metals originates from the lowest-energy hfac intraligand triplet.
