An amphetamine analog, P-1727, dl-(p-trifluoromethylphenyl) ISOPROPYLAMINE HYDROCHLORIDE (cas 15572-56-2), has been shown to cause blood-vascular changes in the posterior compartment of the dog's eye on prolonged oral treatment. It is believed the resultant anoxia in the retinochoroid area produced degeneration of the visual receptors and a pigmentary proliferation. This phenomenon is related to dose and duration of treatment.
