High proton polarizations and long relaxation times have been observed in 50:50 mixtures of glycerol and water containing porphyrexide by using the solid effect. Results are reported for temperatures down to 0.28 K, and for magnetic fields between 19.6 and 29.4 kG. Comments are made on this material with regard to its suitability for use as a “frozen target” material.
