  • Add time:09/03/2019         Source:sciencedirect.com

Various metals, such as Pd, Ir, Ni, Cu, Fe, Ru, Rh, Mo, W, Pt, etc., can form allyl metal complexes, which react with a wide range of carbon and heteroatom nucleophiles. This chapter focuses on the developments in this field after the publication of the first edition of Comprehensive Organic Synthesis in 1991. The general methods to generate the allyl metal complexes and their corresponding reaction mode with nucleophiles are summarized. The main text is organized by the type of nucleophiles used for the reaction with allyl metals. The chemo-, regio-, and enantioselectivities are discussed if appropriate. The applications of the reaction in the total synthesis of natural products are also covered.
