  • Study of the effects of several related phosphorus derivatives of biological interest in calcium oxalate crystal growth
  • Add time:09/06/2019         Source:sciencedirect.com

The kinetics of the crystal growth of calcium oxalate monohydrate seed crystals were investigated potentiometrically in the presence of several phosphorus compounds of biological interest: phosphoenol pyruvate, d-3-phosphoglyceric acid, 2,3-diphospho-d-glyceric acid, phosphocreatine, and d,l-1-glycerophosphate. It was found that all those substances inhibited crystal growth under the conditions studied, except phosphocreatine. The inhibitory action on crystal growth of the different substances studied was evaluated comparatively and the effects on the crystalline morphology were studied.
