In continuation of the study of the structure of boron hydrodihalides, calculations have been made of the fundamental vibration frequencies of dibromoborane. Using the available experimental infra-red data we have made the assignment of the stretching frequencies of BBr and BH, as well as the bending frequencies of HBBr, BrBBr and out-of-plane, using a consistent system of force constants and interatomic distances, taking the angles as 120° and assuming a planar structure. The calculations show a satisfactory interpretation of the experimental spectrum.
