The behaviour of the acoustic attenuation in ethylcyclohexane at ultrasonic frequencies as a function of the temperature between 300 K and 100 K has been analyzed exploiting the information recently obtained by high resolution dielectric spectroscopy. The results suggest the existence of a secondary mechanical relaxation whose features are comparable with those of a Johari–Goldstein relaxation.
