Enthalpies of dilution of benzamide, cyclohexanecarboxamide, and N-acetyl-N′-methyl-l-cyclohexylalaninamide dissolved in N,N-dimethylformamide have been measured at 298.15 K. The results are used to calculate enthalpic interaction coefficients. Solutes with an aromatic ring have a more positive pairwise enthalpic interaction coefficient than their non-aromatic analogs. This is interpreted in terms of solute-solvent interactions, viz. that between the aromatic ring and solvent amide groups.
